Exide Technologies Environmental Manager in Kansas City, Kansas

Overview

The Environmental Manager is responsible for managing environmental programs and activities for the facility. The Environmental Manager assures compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations by monitoring all regulatory requirements of all environmental permits issued to the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that industrial operations are in compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.

  • Interaction with all Federal, State and Local agencies to assure ongoing compliance as well as compliance of any process changes or the addition of new processes to the facility.

  • Keep current on all new environmental regulations which impact the facility

  • Interact with all agencies to maintain positive relations and ensure all regulatory reports are completed correctly and submitted on time.

  • Keep up with all required database and log sheets and ensure they are completed correctly and filed using a trackable system.

  • Assurance that all fees, fines and permitting are kept current.

  • Update Environmental procedures in line with changing permits and regulations

  • Keep up to date with new regulations and regulatory requirements.

  • Track all emissions for permitting requirements to assure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Keep Plant Manager updated on all Environmental activities.

  • Educate all employees on environmental programs and policies.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skills Required:

  • BS in Environmental Sciences or BS in Environmental Management

  • At least 5 years experience in environmental management and a working knowledge of manufacturing processes and effect on environment

  • Experience with EPA, Clean Air Act (Title V permit), NPDES and RCRA permits.

  • Experience tracking and maintaining environmental compliance

  • Heavy industrial experience a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to perform continuous walking, standing, and lifting.

Equipment Used:

  • PC with various software, office equipment, PPE equipment as required.

  • Personal protective equipment as required.
