Lead the development projects in the plant, providing continuous technical assistance to all functions involved in the product and process development, focusing on cost reduction and customer satisfaction.
Planning, coordination and driving the execution of projects
Resource adjustment within the R&D organization (program managers) and other functions
Responsible for defining and updating of process instructions and (local) material specifications as well as defining the BOM's and test procedures
Assure information flow & documentation in respective plant
Responsible for local R&D costs (overviewing function)
Knowledge Transfer within the European Organization
Collaboration and participation in Engineering projects (6S, EEP, IEP, MEP, PEP, etc.)
Local R&D FY Budget Planning (project and cost related)
Support Technical and quality related issues in plants, including Customer Audits
Support Sales, Application & Procurement on customer/supplier issues (customer claims)
Support R&D Organization on technical issues
Support the execution of the Strategic Plan(s), Roadmaps, Development Plan(s) in R&D

EDUCATION: Recommended University technical degree: Chemistry, Engineering.
EXPERIENCE: Experience at shopfloor in a technical environment at least 5 years as project manager in the lead acid battery business, and preferably in the plant where they will be plant satellite.
Knowledgeable of the plant needs. Able to “speak the language of the plant”, not with R&D language.
Knowledge of the products and manufacturing processes in the plant where they support. Is the reference in the plant as technical expert.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Able to manage projects in budget, in time, in scope. Prioritizes use of resources. Plans ahead. Good task management.
Experience at working in a cross-functional environment. Interaction and collaboration (cross-functional inside and outside R&D)
