About the role:
You will be joining Exide’s battery manufacturing plant at an exciting time! Increased customer demand for our products has resulted in a capital investment at the plant to include new production lines with the latest robotic equipment. Now we need your help to update the Electrical issues, PLCs and perform preventative maintenance to ensure we meet production targets. The 12-hour night shift begins at 6:00 pm and enables you to typically work 3 or 4 days/week and time off for family events!

Must be able to handle and lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally throughout shift. Work requires frequent standing with periodic climbing, turning, and bending required.
Be capable of effectively meeting a wide range of diverse plant electrical work and project needs. Position requires strong electrical background and aptitude. Must be capable of developing new methods to overcome electrical engineering or maintenance problems. Fabrication and welding skills are required. Will assist in assisting with leadership of maintenance skills on projects which require a higher level of technical expertise.
3.Demonstrated knowledge and capability in the following disciplines; 480V 3 phase power, design of relay logic, trouble shoot PLC logic/programming, interpretation of electrical schematics, demonstrated knowledge of wire size, fuse size, motor controllers.
Demonstrated knowledge and compliance ability with NEC and OSHA regulations as well as demonstrated mechanical ability in the following areas: troubleshooting, machine fabrication, overhauling, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Will be required to work with limited direct supervision and will ensure a satisfactory level of electrical parts inventory is maintained.
Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and perform team responsibilities.
Must follow safety and health procedures for the protection of self and fellow workers,
including lockout/tag out, confined space entry.
Must accurately complete necessary paperwork as required.
Should have excellent attendance and must comply with the company attendance policy and reporting procedures.
Must adhere to plant policies and procedures depicted in the employee handbook as well as conform to accepted general practices and conduct
High school diploma or equivalent with five years trade experience (manufacturing/commercial) or two years technical school (electronics technology/commercial wiring) or a combination of both.
Multimeter, oscilloscope, amp probe, other testing equipment, bench and hand power tools, numerous types of powered equipment, control panels, and safety equipment.
Must be able to wear work uniform, personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, heat resistant sleeves as needed, hearing protection; metatarsal steel-toed shoes; blue leather, blue hynit, or white cotton gloves, and respirator as required by Lead in Air's in the department.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area and ensuring parts and supplies areas are well organized and maintained.
Will be exposed to extreme hot, humid, and cold working conditions. Will be exposed to lead in the form of dust, fumes, molten lead, flames, hot equipment, moving equipment, and other hazards.
Must be able to follow work instructions and procedures satisfactorily enough to ensure that high blood leads do not lead to medical removal. Adherence to General Policy includes shower and shampoo at the end of each work shift.
